Filopodia protrude from cells for specialized functions but are hard to isolate. Microscoop enables precise proteomic discovery even in structures lacking unique markers. In mouse fibroblast samples, Microscoop used image-based feature-specified pattern recognition to identify specialized filopodia as regions of interest. Precise in-situ photobiotinylation of these delicate structures (red) is confirmed by their colocalization with Protein X (green), demonstrating Microscoop’s ability to study subcellular features without the need for a unique marker.
